Is it possible to laminate sheets printed in UV waterless offset?
Laminating on top of waterless inks is possible and frequently done in the printing industry. Nevertheless, it is necessary to consider that inks have to be approved before. Inks, offered by MICTOM have passed lamination tests successfully ( …see our product list ) but the lamination results depend on several parameters except the ink.
Therefore we recommend to test the inks with regard to lamination quality.
It is fact that, the higher the silicone share is in the ink, the more difficult the lamination process will be.
Another possibility is to print a transparent adhesion agent on top of the colours prior to lamination.
We are looking for a supplier of blank (white) card bodies (ISO size) in good quality and at competitive prices. Can you help?
If you cannot find a suitable material in our list, please inform us so that we can support you further.
Which type of blanket do I have to use for UV waterless offset process?
We recommend to use a semi-compressible type (shore 70-80°).
Moreover, it is important to use a type of rubber blanket which is not swelling through the chemical ingredients of the UV inks.
Our blanket products are well approved by many customers since years and provide excellent dot reproduction quality, registration and life time at a competitive price.
